Shift Program

  • Start the Archivage OK

  • Align 50 MeV beam in QP1 QP3 with Kevin script

  • TL_bpm2 : adjust espread and put beam at x=0

  • Store the beam in the ring with an orbit as flat as possible around the IP

  • Make a vertical FPC scan - Then put the table at maximum OK

  • Align the CdTe spectro on the on-axis position, approximatively by eyes with the Photonic science camera ==> take a spectrum OK

  • Change gun phase only  OK

in positive direction   ==> take a spectrum
return to "nominal"      ==> spectrum
in negative direction ==> spectrum
return to "nominal"      ==> spectrum
  • Change section attenuator only ==> idem (positive, "nominal", negative, "nominal") ==> 4 spectra  OK

  • Change the section phase only ==> idem ==> 4 spectra  OK

To not be affected too much by the motor hysteresis and by the boucle d'eau, "nominal" means that the beam has to return to its previous X position on TL_bpm2

==> Nouvelle interface de cyclage, on ne voit plus la progression ou l'état des éléments. (impossible de savoir si le cyclage à bien fonctionné)

10h: recette chargée 50MeV 20251010_15_48_41

Commentaires machine :

* pour un bon stockage l'énergie n'est pas bonne (157.3A sur TL/DP pour etre à 0 TL/BPM.02), position vertical TL/BPM.02 ~ -4mm (stockage possible avec +- 2A sur TL/DP)

/!\ l'orbite n'est pas "flat" à l'IP (comparaison avec chargement de la recette "50MeV_100pC_flatVERTorbit_withEL_20250717_10_58_38.txt"), l'orbite n'est plus "plate" avec l'ancienne recette. 

* probleme dans la EL, le faisceau n'est pas extrait correctement avec la nouvelle recette. 

/!\ probleme BPM/EL, le BPM n'affiche plus la position du faisceau !

* comparaison orbite du matin et de l'après midi, l'orbite change en X pas en Y.

* décalage du délais septum de 4us pour mettre l'impulsion des kicker à peu pres au sommet de l'impulsion ==> il faut désendre le septum de ~ 2V dans ce cas (97.13V --> 95.33V)

** recette sauvée sous : 50MeV_100pC_MRSV_20251014_18_22_53

 

* mise à jour du DS "DS_Ring_RF" pour faire les changement de fréquence anneau et phase au meme endroit.

Les phases rigol où il y a des pertes se repetent tous les 24 degrees avec une largeur de 6degrees. Reproductible sur plusieurs mesures. 

Changement de la frequence anneau: + 4.5kHz, delta phase=52degrees

Etude des coups manqués en fonction de la phase du dephaseur rigol. (cf plot)

C'est a nouveau reproductible tous les 24 degrees mais a des phases differentes.

Changement de fréquence de sonnerie plus : + 4,5 kHz, delta RF Phase  43 dg.  (99 dg. on the limit) 

**Si vous avez un probleme de coups manqués, faites +12 degrees sur le dephaseur Rigol. Un bouton a ete ajouté sur l'IHM Ring Cavity**

Analyse de l'amplitude des pulses du septum (cf plot en mode persistance): Bruit de l'ordre de 5mV sur 850mV.

Le kicker tire quand l'impulsion du septum n'est pas au maximum.

16h30 EL quads: [-3.67; 4.2; 0.0; -4.08;  3.8; 2.57; -2.54] A (from simulation). Ext. kiker 7422 V. There is image on the EL SST.01 (saved).

Image processing results from the EL/DG/SST.01 camera. The resolution of the target image is 9.8 μm/pixel (horizontally).

The rms width of the horizontal beam profile (Gaussian approximation) is 325 pixels or 3.2 mm (see the figure uploaded). The simulated dispersion at the screen is about 1 m, so the rms energy spread is 0.32%.

The reflected wave from the RF gun seems too high. Trying to set it to 27°C, but the clarinet temperature rises to 30.4°C and does not change.

Emittance measurements during the shift as well, at  QP1, QP2 QP3 with low charge 70pC(0.8 mm) normal charge 100pC(1.3mm) and (300pC)3mm : here we wanted to see the affect of asymetric laser beam as well. 
QP4-Scan also but scan is strange (and long ... 1s expo to see something)

Several accesses in the casemat with Rodolphe to rotate the dipoles. 4 dipoles are totated.

The vertical orbit seems to go in the good direction. Work in progress.

9h45: le klystron ne passe pas en HV, gros problème de perverance aussi (impossiblde de passer à 1215V)

** Le générateur rigol ne répond plus ==> adresse IP fausse (anciennement celle de camera sst spare) ==> rigol en DHCP nom reseau "dephaseur-sy" = "192.168.229.164"

** Cavité FP instable gros délock ==> impossible de faire le programme de shift.

** Problème de delock visible sur l'accéléromètre ==> travaux devant sciences ACO totalement corrélé avec les délock.

8h05: mise en chauffe en remote de la machine (modulateur, frigo/chiller, laser)

==> cyclage aimant plante, donc aimant non allumés ni cyclé.

9h All keys are in vertical position. Totes rondes sont tombees. We need help to restart.

Kevin and Vincent came to help.

All systems were started.

We switch on the RF and found problem with the reflected RF power in the gun. Checked the temperature and found that chiller failed to set the proper temperature.

10h10 Restart frigo+chiller

Several restarts but the temperature does not rise. 

After several attempts it is OK

11h Problem with laser, we do nto see the dark current on the ICT1; Try to understand the reason

Laser was not aligned. Kevin helped.

We restarted all the Liberas as they were not in a good state. 

The phase shifter DS was OFF.

11h50 Finally we have the beam in the ring

problem with the RIC1 STR 4 VERT It does not take the command and stays in the orange state. Steerer resistance is 18 Ohm.

12h02 F Gun phase 283 dg. Sect Att. 2.32 dB. Sect. phase 218 dg. Beam charges about -100 pC. Charge devices do not show values

Restart all Liberas because of reading problems

Srudies of the RF freq change. it is clear that it changes the phase of the RF cavity. Not clear if it is OK for th e measurements.

=> It is very important to measure the deltaPhase introduced by the RF transport lines in order to proceed with the measurements.

The vert cteere in the ring shuld be checked/repaired.

Stop for lunch and steerer reparation.
