08h35 Start-up modulator (it was already on standby), laser, magnets, cycling.
As yesterday there is a problem with the MPS to start the machine. We are trying to investigate whether it is related to the vacuum or something else.
Problem with the solenoid COL.01 (Internal Interlock Hard).
Help is needed.
At this moment, apparently we are blocked by the closed vacuum valve of the FPC. To be checked with Nourredine (emails sent).
The vaccum level in the FPC is not yet good to open the valve. Eric will check it.
10h10 Switched to the Linac+TL+EL configuration. HV is on (the modulator was in the local mode). Interlocks even at HV 1200 V, the sect att. 3 dB. Linac 04 vac is high.
10h33 There are breakdowns at 26 dB the section att. and 25 dB of the RF gun att. These are not in vacuum breakdowns. Probably it is the klystron problem.
10h50 The modulator is in the standby mode.
Maher is coming to check the klystron and Jean-Noel is working on the solenoid power supplies.
11h40 Maher fixed problem with the klystron by increasing the filament power. At 84 kV, I = 48.7 A (microperveance 2.0). At 293 kV, I = 294 A (microperveance 1.85, should be 2.0).
12h03 The machine configuration without FP closes the photocathode laser shuter, so we can operate only in the Linac+TL+EL configuration.

At the moment maximum charge is 135 pC with irise Ø of 1.3 mm (possibly because the laser photocathode shutter is in the wrong position)
13h25 The modulator is in standby mode. Maher can remove the MPS short.
The problem with MPS is the OC/AVAL02 FP valve. It is in two states at the same time: Closed and Open.

- avec ligne à retard interne (bascule) : trop de jitter au niveau du 50Hz (4ms sdev) mais peu visible sur les BPM
- solution sans synchro FP : (pas de jitter 50Hz : 120us sdev, mais pas de synchro FP)
- Essaie de faire un veto avec un comptage d'horloge 41MHz ==> pas réussi (le code ne réagis pas comme il faut = investiguer le VHDL)
* Essaie de la ligne à retard 33MHz (AO.01-AO.07) = pas d'influence sur le signal à première vue.

Reestablishing running conditions at 500.38 MHz | |
Goal of the shift: Reestablish the good storage at 500.38 and then try to optimize the storage and orbit.
Start up of the machine.
RF cavity start up by Mohamed. Water leakage. Jean-Noel will fix tomorrow mornig. Mohamed also says that aparently the sinal from ring syntetizer is a bit noisy, to be checked with Nicolas.
problem with trigger of the TL BPM. Nicola fixed the problem. The cable was broken.
Load of the machine setting from 19/05. The injection in the ring is very unstable from shot to shot due to the tuning of the cavity. Coming to 100 kV @500.38 MHz synchronized with the ring. RF cavity works stable.
Beam on TL BPM.02 drifts a lot and very fast. See screenshots.
With the previous setting, we did not get the previous orbit. After small reoptimization we received the resonable storage. Still we should work on the orbit correction.
The main idea fo this week is to prepare the beam for the search of the first X-rays.

A faire pour la suite : Visualisation du phototube de la photocathode sur la redpitaya à mettre en place, IHM charge EL/DG/FC.01 charge positive lors du passage de la LE en décembre à vérifier

en conclusion ThomX n'a pas besoin d'avoir un laser fonctionnel pour dysfonctionner...

Après coupure électrique de cette nuit. Rédemarrage de tous les systèmes :
Général:
- toutes les baies sont allumées
- Tous les clients de la salle de contrôle redémarrés
- les rondes sont tombées
Synchro:
- Synchro redémarrée avec le compte opérateur
- dernière recette "20211028_1105_deplacement_trigger_linac_a_40_micro_s.xml" rechargée (est ce la bonne ?)
- l'oscilloscope trig. Il y a des loupés sur la voie 1 (voie jaune)
Vide:
- Compresseur réallumé
- pompes acquittées.
- Toutes les vannes sont fermées
- le vide Cavité FP en rouge sur le MPS.
CC:
- Beaucoup de serveur sont rouge (Client2, libéra et redpitaya) (Gogh aussi n'avait pas starter de redémarré, un reboot à résolu le problème)
- l'Archivage est HS, le server est blanc sous astor (mais starter est démarré), impossible de restart les DS d'Archivage. |

- The water leakage is detected on teh Ring RF cavity. Intervention of Mohamed and Jean-Noel is needed. Jean-Noel is informed about the problem.
- Synchro problem. Jitter at FPCavity scope screen. Vincent is working on that. |

Laser amplifier was somehow OFF. Very strange situation and not clear why it happen. To be understood.
Call Viktor, who came and start the laser.
Start the beam. No beam. No e- from gun. Call Vincent.
Many instabilities in e-beam signals.
Retuning Linac, attenuator =2.114 for 50 MeV (why ??? calibration problem ?)
Work on orbit correction, starting from natural one. Slight optics tuning. Frequency 500.067 MHz. The hor. tune is 0.18
Small horizontal, small vertical steerers.
At some aatenuator or frequency values, the energy jitter appears and a lot of mistriggers.
Good storage obtained. Recipie saved : recipe_recipe_LI_TL_RI_good_20240301_15_50_35.txt

Recherche du signal ICT après la section | |
Alexandre Moutardier :
Signal ICT (ER/CA/RAC.05-ELR.01-WAC.02 channel CH3) pas visible après la section bien que le faisceau passe au vu des signaux sur le BPM et l'écran.
-> PB résolue : le WaveCatcher (WAC) était en mode trigger interne et non en mode Externe (code 3)
Signal bien visible, et une bonne partie du faisceau semble passer la section.
Mesure de charge (NON OFFICIEL !) a partir des données ICT brute :
