8h30 : démarrage machine (laser, klystron, chiller, frigo, aimant)

* Beaucoup de problème de rédémarrage. Les delays au niveau des wavecatcher ne sont toujours pas bons (pas de signal de charge visible).

* Problème sur le géné 33MHz à la mauvaise fréquence (en Hz au lieu d'être au MHz) empécher le système de synchronisation de fonctionner (pas de Trig).

* Problème sur la puissance en sortie du synthé 500MHz RI, rédémarrage effectué (ce qui à engendré un problème sur le Géné 33MHz qui n'était plus synchrone du 10MHz).

==> mise en place d'une recette d'injection dans l'anneau, basée sur la recette précédente (recipe_recipe_LI_TL_RI_all_20230928_15_43_43.txt) et sur le nouveau point photoCathode trouvé les semaines précédente. Injection à  optimisée car le stockage est "plat" sur 100ms mais il y a peu de charge stocké (qq 10^6 sur les BPM)

* Il semblerait que la consigne de phase au niveau du LLRF de la cavité RF ne fonctionne pas.

- Allumer les équipements au fur et à mesure pour voir l'influence sur le lock de la cavité FP

Tout les équipements ont été allumé un par un jusqu'au stockage dans l'anneau, peu d'effets sont visible sur le stockage de la cavité. Quelques perturbations difficiles à identifiés se sont produite de façon intermitentes.

- Synchroniser la cavité à l'anneau

Un problème sur le signal de synchronisation est apparu et a été résolu (une alimentation d'un ampli sur le signal d'erreur de la cavité). Par manque de temps la cavité n'a pas été asservis sur l'horloge machine.

Le DS pour le moteur de la cavité n'est toujours pas ajouté à JIVE malgrè un ticket ouvert depuis 2 semaine

Bilan : pas de faisceau sur TL/DG/SST.02 apres dipole

At 11h50 the modulator interlocked . Then on the MPS there are errorrs (see photo). Need the intervention of support.

13.50 Eric came and fixed the probmlem of one of vacuum valves of the ring, that was causing interlock.

Synchro problem, Kevin repaired.

14.40. Kevin , Ronic entered the bunker to change cable on FPC.

15.10 Restart the machine. Tune of the injector (gun phase 230 and LIL phase 111, charge 72 pC ICT1). it seems that now the energy is not very stable, at TL BPM2 the SpX goes from +2 to -6 (see the screenshot attached). Injection in the ring.

Restart of the RF cavity (problem to start from the interface in the control room)

Only one turn in the ring

During the phase scan of the RF cavity (with rigol) strange bahavior of the trigger. Misstriggering (see the screenshot attached). Problem to be understood. Conclusion: to change the phase of the RF cavity better to use the phase shifter (old position 6094 and nez position 2320).

Storage is reisteblished and improved after optization of the injection : the last good receip is

recipe_recipe_LI_TL_RI_all_20240124_18_17_03.txt

The injection stability to be further investigated (see the screenshot attached)

Use of the trigger on demand. Works well. Checked the duration of beam circulating in the ring (5-10 sec on the scope).

Some tests to check the correlqtino of the energy jumps on TL BPM2 with RF cavity and pulsed elements and dipoles. It seems that there are no effect.

Tuning of the TL to transport the beam on axis after the first dipole (minimize the effect of passing the qudrupoles off-axis before the ring). TL dipole current change 159.3 to 160.8. Scanning of the dispersion at the entranct of the ring. After optimization, the storage was imroved.  The new receipt is

For this receipt the x- beam position @TL BPM2 should be 0 mm.

During the first 5-10 ms of storage the beam loss occurrs. To be investigated and studied.

The TbTX data for 1000 triggers has been analyzed to see the synchrotron phase (see the plot attached)

** La table optique a été scannée mais aucun optimum "flagrant" n'a été trouvé

** flux "stable" en fin de journée. Le tube X a été dégagé des différentes structures qui obstruées le faisceau.

** pré-alignement transfocateur avec image prise (pinholes + racks lentilles 22 et 17)

** trend de stabilité du flux. Il manque un facteur 10, fluctuation importantes d'un lock à l'autre (un facteur 2 sur le flux (entre 15 et 30 nA)

Resolution d'instabilité de déclenche du modulateur:

si le signal observé sur  ICT 1 (Gun) n'apparait pas à 10Hz  (ie nBs de coups manqués sup à 1:100) => pB de synchro

pour le résoudre il faut changer la phase entre le 500MHz ri et le 33MHz ri. 

solutions:

1- changer la fréquence 500MHz ri  , +1Hz et -1Hz    (aller retour)

2- changer la fréquence du 33MHz ri  +1Hz et -1Hz    (aller retour)

3- changer la phase du 33MHz ri (0.1°)

Attention la phase injection anneau et la phase FP/ electrons peut changer

test à faire pour expliquer la perte d'énergie du faisceau.

--> Le faisceau est detecte sur BPMTL2 et sur YAGTL2 pour I_DIPOLE = 143 A ce qui, avec les caracteristique du dipole, correspond a une energie sortie section de 45.5 MeV

j'ajoute qu'on a aussi fait le stest suivant :

a la phase LIL =133 (10MW PiS power-meter casemate, courant dipole ~148 A au lieu des 159.3 nominal), le faisceau est bien visible sur YAGTL2,  au minumum de dipersion et a x ~ 0 sur BPMTL2

on passe a +5 (138) en phase : faisceau disperse qui va vers la gauche de l'ecran et valeurs negatives BPM.

on passe a -5 (128) en phase : idem (= disperse qui va vers la gauche de l'ecran et valeurs negatives BPM).

--> Ca semble montrer qu'on est bien sur la crete de l'impusion, que la perte des 5 MeV d'energie depuis le redemarrage sem derniere n'est pas due au fait qu'on serait par erreur sur un front montant ou descendant de l'impulsion ...

La clé PA est resté enclenchée hier. Il faut penser à la tourner avant de partir (demande de Maher)

8h15 : Mise en chauffe machine (aimants, chillers, laser, modulateur).

Pas de mesure de charge (WAC, délai ?)

 

Recherche de la cause de la perte de puissance

** Klystron 1090 ==> 2MW en Pi Load

Initial : TL/BPM.02 à 0 (Dipôle 160.8A) ==> 1.27dB

On test les sources de pertes de puissance :

* Changement frequence RF (-500Hz)

pas de changement

* Changement temperature section ( consigne 29.5°C ==> 29.2°C)

TL/BPM.02 à 0 ==> 1.39dB

On continue pour trouver l'optimum

optimum trouvé autour de 27.0°C en consigne.

TL/BPM.02 à 0 ==> 1.73dB

 

** Essaie de rentrer dans l'anneau. Impossible de faire un tour. Reprise du septum, on gagne 2 BPM mais les deux dernier ne voit pas de faisceau.

==> problème de délai des EP ?

Hier modification du retard du laser PC pour vérifier que l'on était bien dans l'impulsion RF au niveau de la section LIL. Passage du retard de -8.2µ à -8.4µs (pas de changement sur l'energie faisceau)
