Tuning the injector
Beam is injected in the ring.
Problem to start the RF cavity (no injected power, the delta f jumps a lot and the motor position can not converge). Mohamed is contacted.
Problem to restart the DS for the control of the FP cavity table. The CC team is contacted. We are waiting for intervention.
Check of the Ring frequency
11h25 Modulator on stand by
Thanks to Kevin and Mohamed the RF cavity is OK. Restqrt of te beam.
In parallel, Vincent, Ronic and Kevin are investigating the sunchro with the FPC.
The injector is very unstable in energy (random slow change on the TL BPM 2 + usual problem with attenuator ) and LIL phase change/drift (from 114 to 88 deg. during the day). Presence of misstrigering from time to time during the day.
For a certain parameters, a good storage was obtained. But then, due to change of injector parameters the conditions were not kept. Work on the BBA.
Very difficult to work in such conditions, especially on BBA.

Restart and tuning of the injector | |
10h Intervention to repair the water leakage. It was repaired.
New problem with vacuum pomp is found in the ring. The two problems are due to the water leakage. Intervention is ongoing.
12h Warm up of the machine
14h30 Start up of the machine in the mode LI-TL-EL. Goal: tune the injector and perform the measurements.
Mistriggering. All interfaces to see the current freauency do not respond.
Intervention of synchronization team is needed to continue.

- Problem with the vaccum, the valves around the RF cavity are down. Eric came. He checked and the problem is with the cable. it should be changed. Intervention is ongoing.
- The water leakage is detected on teh Ring RF cavity. Intervention of Mohamed and Jean-Noel is needed. Jean-Noel is informed about the problem.
- Synchro problem. Jitter at FPCavity scope screen. Vincent is working on that. |

Laser amplifier was somehow OFF. Very strange situation and not clear why it happen. To be understood.
Call Viktor, who came and start the laser.
Start the beam. No beam. No e- from gun. Call Vincent.
Many instabilities in e-beam signals.
Retuning Linac, attenuator =2.114 for 50 MeV (why ??? calibration problem ?)
Work on orbit correction, starting from natural one. Slight optics tuning. Frequency 500.067 MHz. The hor. tune is 0.18
Small horizontal, small vertical steerers.
At some aatenuator or frequency values, the energy jitter appears and a lot of mistriggers.
Good storage obtained. Recipie saved : recipe_recipe_LI_TL_RI_good_20240301_15_50_35.txt

Remarque sur les scan charge phase pour trouver l'energie Max:
en fonction des outils utilisés et des consignes des experts de dynamique faisceau, le choix de la phase à Energie max varie de 10°
soft de Nicolas : automatique 180° (phase charge max (juste avant perte charge) 240° ) => E max --- Qmax- 60°
calcul de Hayg : 185° (à l'oeuil phase charge max (juste avant perte charge) 235°) => Emax ---- Q max - 50°
Sotf de Kevin : 182° semi auto (automatique phase charge max (jhaut de la courbe) 232° ) => Emax --- Qmax - 50°

la recette a fonctionné pour une injection dans l'anneau.

Elle a retrouvé une injection correcte. A creuser pour garder la meilleure solution.

La clé PA est resté enclenchée hier. Il faut penser à la tourner avant de partir (demande de Maher)
8h15 : Mise en chauffe machine (aimants, chillers, laser, modulateur).
Pas de mesure de charge (WAC, délai ?)
Recherche de la cause de la perte de puissance
** Klystron 1090 ==> 2MW en Pi Load
Initial : TL/BPM.02 à 0 (Dipôle 160.8A) ==> 1.27dB
On test les sources de pertes de puissance :
* Changement frequence RF (-500Hz)
pas de changement
* Changement temperature section ( consigne 29.5°C ==> 29.2°C)
TL/BPM.02 à 0 ==> 1.39dB
On continue pour trouver l'optimum
optimum trouvé autour de 27.0°C en consigne.
TL/BPM.02 à 0 ==> 1.73dB
** Essaie de rentrer dans l'anneau. Impossible de faire un tour. Reprise du septum, on gagne 2 BPM mais les deux dernier ne voit pas de faisceau.
==> problème de délai des EP ?
Hier modification du retard du laser PC pour vérifier que l'on était bien dans l'impulsion RF au niveau de la section LIL. Passage du retard de -8.2µ à -8.4µs (pas de changement sur l'energie faisceau)
remise du retard à -8.2µs
