Charge excess in the TL | |
By looking at the BPM transmission tool one can see that there is more charge on TL/BP.03 than on TL/BPM.02 (see attached image).
The BPM seetings have been checked and they are similar.
One can see a similar effect when comparing TL/ICT.01 and TL/ICT.02.
Possible interpretation: the beam is scrapping the beam pipe and creating a shower of secondaries. |

Beam is stored (sligth decay) in the ring around 15 minutes without touching anything. This opens way for beam dynamics studies and for better understanding of machine. Need to find a way to have diagnostics data (trigger only diag) in such mode.

comparaison charge BPM ICT ==> gros probleme de lecture sur les BPMs somme....
Voir trends en pj dans lesquels on fait varier l'atténuation du laser, et on regarde les variations de charge et du signal Spsum.
Autour de 80pC de charge le signal Spsum fait des sauts pour ensuite à environ 90 pC de charge baisser d'environ 50% ...
Note : la charge a diminué pendant le shift passant de 300 pC à 420 degrés d'atténuation sur le laser à 160 pC .... Il faut monitorer l'energie du Laser ...

Goal: Search for the non-dispersive orbit and proper RF frequency
We started from F =500.059 MHz
Frequency change from 500.05 to 500.0853 MHz
We stopped at 500.0853 MHz and proceeded with the orbit correction
3 steereres are at max values. Studies continue to understand the other possibilities of corection.

11h20 HV on, linac RF OK, but there is no laser on the cathode. Trying to fix.
The problem was with the M4 position. initial positions now are: M4 mot.01 2855.00, M4 mot.02 4631.00,
15h25 HV is on.
problems with changing Ring RF frequency. Kevin helped.
With frequency chnge, the trigger stability changes. The rigole phase should be adjusted.
Problem with steerer in the TL TL/PS/STR.03-H.O1 Impossible to set the current. It goes to error.
Looking for solution to compensate its effect. Email to jeabn Noel is sent
Search for non dispersive orbit and frequency. F =500.059 looks good. With RF and without RF orbit is the same.
Further studies ongoing.

17h: faisceau machine.
** On fait un scan de TL/STR1 avec QP1 à QP4 à 0, faisceau aligné (QP1-QP3) coil afin d'avoir un faisceau sur l'écran TL/SST2 "focalisé".
==> MadX prévoit un couplage de 0.3mm sur Yag pour 1mm de déplacement en entrée dipole, code Matlab prévoit 4.5mm sur Yag pour 1mm de déplacement en entrée dipole
==> la courbe montre position TL/BPM01 (avant dipole) et position sur TL/SST.02 (après dipole)
** On injecte avec recette canon 0dB et recette canon 0.5dB meme performance avec meme paramètres BPM (2E-6 tbtsum pour 0dB et 1.5E-6 pour 0.5dB).
On mets RiC1/BPM01 et 02 en gain automatique, tbtsum retrouve des niveau "correte" quelques 1E-7. (on désactive le gain auto après)
** on est dans l'anneau avec un "bon stockage" canon 0dB ==> à affiner : recette dans "all_20241028_19_19_52"

==> by setting the nominal current on the steererqs (of TL) we can inject in the ring. The 2 alignement of QP1 - QP3 seems to be close enougth.
