As reported by Nicolas:

- this morning the control of the laser from the ATK panel was working fine (enable amplier output)

- this afternoon at about 2pm it was noticed that no communication was obtained with the laser thourgh ATK panel, suggesting something wrong with ElliOOs.

So, I went to optical room and noticed that:

- ElliOOs was frozen on the vizualisation panels (Host PC). I first closed ElliOOs on that machine and restarted it. The connection screen was frozen (gray-ed).

- thus connected to remote PC (embarqué) through ssh and observed that ElliOOsd process was not running.

I decided to "take my chance" and simply reboot the remote PC using linux in-line command. The Host ElliOOs panel went back working so that I could connect with usual username. However the window disappeared preventing any control of the laser from the Host machine. This is strange and reamains unexplained to me. To be investigated by Viktor when he is back ?

However, the ATK panel is working again, allowing laser control from the control room.

Following a reboot of the scarell embedded and a broken database, it was recovered but the recovery files were corrupted too. So a new recovery archive was done. (DataOrigine.tgz). Unfornately TANGO server configuration files are not created on demand and must be copied too, which was forgotten in the process. This is now fixed. laser-ampltide DS is reachable from Jive and working as expected. The DataOrigine.tgz was recreated from today's databases files, including TANGO configuraiton files.

on the 23rd of april the CC of the photocathode was re-installed by Amplitude, along with spare machines.

It was noted on the 25th of June that the laser-amplitude DS was not pushing informations. The problem certainly was present since a very long time.

Following a careful check of database file of the system (located in Data/28xxxx/) it was realized that the laser-amplitude.db file was missing.

Scarell (under Amplitude request) interveaned via teamviewer yesterday and put back the system operationnal. The laser-amplitude DS was checked it is fonctionnal with jive.

NB: in order to let the embedded machine access the internet (teamviewer...), it was needed to put it in DHCP mode, old (manual IP) and new configurations attached.

Following:

1) a crash on 4th of April and a violent reboot of the ELLiOOs embeded machine

2) the need to recover the whole database files in the ELLiOOs embeded machine

the ElliOOs sofware was running back quickly. Though recently (in terms of working and available days) was reported that the tango DS was not communicating.

The reason why stayed misterious.

Following calls to Amplitude Laser (Vianney) last week and, today, a callabck from SCARELL (Romain and Jean-François), it is now understood that :

- the content of the data repository corresponding to the Tango gateway was not dynamically created (~/bin/ElliOOs/User/Data/28*/*). The specific file that was missing since the 5th of arpil reeboot was Plugin.sml.

Recovering this file and properly rebooting the embedded machine (from the ElliOOs programme running on the HOST, in the System Info --> reboot embedded), allowed to revoer the com.

Indeed it was checked by looking at jive by Falcoz.

An archive of the Code repository was done in case it is required to recover these files again. Archive sent to SCARELL.

Please remember to reboot the embeded in case there is a reoboot of TANGO machine in the main control room or if the database is reset.

Please also note that trying to look at the content of the TANGO_HOST variable in superuser or default user will not help in understanding if tango is running locally.
